That's a beautiful trailer.

So it really is Boston? I think I recognize some of the landmarks.

Yeah it's in Boston. I was able to notice Massachusetts State house and what seemed to be Fenway park (don't count me on it)
Trailer seems great though. Hopefully we get the first voiced character, given he actually spoke in the trailer. Let's just hope it's not a thing they are doing just for the trailer. I believe we get some gameplay at E3 as well, lucky us.

I really want to watch Bethesda's E3 presentation but it's at midnight UK time and I have an exam at 9:00 the next day.

I'm pretty hyped for this game, but Bethesda is going indubitably going to Bethesda this game. All NPCs will have same lines, despite having different voice actors. I have a slither of hope the NPCs might be a bit better this time, but they've been equally crappy since Oblivion or even Morrowind so I highly doubt it. If anything, Bethesda's latest game, Skyrim, was the worst of all. (Arrow to the knee)

That said, Bethesda's games are still playable with the unimmersive NPCs, and a Fallout game on a new engine is something to be looking forward to by default.

I've been looking forward to a new Fallout game since I first played Fallout 3.

I just hope this game has some new ideas and new game mechanics, because I don't want it to feel like another fallout 3 extension/DLC (which is what new vegas felt like).

I'm a bit tired of "War... War never changes" and would like to see something new. That line is starting to feel like the "my parents got murdered" flashback that all Batman games seem to have at some point. Bruce doesn't need to have that flashback in every game.

Yes? I never said anything else. I just said it felt like an extension to Fallout 3, even though it was released as a standalone game.

*The start of the game will take place in the post apocalypse*

-audience claps and cheers-

I love fallout as it is, but I sincerely hope it does bad just so people who are obviously overhyping it get the disappointment they've let themselves in for.

EDIT:

what the fuck

*character opens fridge and it has nuka cola in*

-fans cheer and applause-

*character says a pretty shit and unfunny joke about sugar bombs*

-loud laughter can be heard-

Am I watching a fucking shitcom with a live audience or something?

I do kind of agree it was a bit cringey, especially when they laughed at him giving his character 10 luck and charisma and like 0 strength. On another note I though Doom looked pretty awesome, even though ive never taken any interest in it before.

Hype completely destroys the entire "vote with your wallet" concept.

If hype sells, games don't need to be good.

So far, to me it seems like Bethesda didn't fix the single most important thing that plagues their games: Animations and general NPC behavior.

I'd rather have them strap Michael J Fox in a motion capture suit than this crap.

I love to get immersed in games, but the way NPC's talk and move in fallout and skyrim completely break me out of it, destroying the game's most important feature.

They used the controller to get the console-faggot-vote, but had to use a PC for the demos because it will look shit on consoles.

They claim to "love video games" and that they want to make the best games around and yet they still go for the casual gamers :((

The Majority of Game Profits come from the Console gamer, there is simply more of them in comparison to PC Gamers. With the Current Gen of Consoles essentially being X86/64 Machines, the differences should essentially be down to Graphical Bling and Control I/O. As much as I hate to Admit it, most game studios will focus on the console gamer first just because there is more of them, there is a greater profit to be made from them, But unlike the Console Masses, we as PC Gamers have a much greater choice of software and control methods, it just costs more to get into.
