Creating a new role playing map. This is what I got so far. Feel free to download the map, decompile it and give any feedback either positive or negative both help to improve the map. The map is still WIP and is long from finished.

Insufficient permissions, can't open the link.

Is that CS:S or CS:GO? The textures are nice.

Might want to make the pavement less massive. Between 4 or 8 units would look better.

Pavement has been decreased to 8 units tall. Thank you for your feedback, now it looks even better.

I think you should experiment with different styles of lighting. Currently the warm lighting doesn't make it look like a snowy map at all.

Try something blue-ish for outside light and warm yellow/orange lights inside for nice contrast and a real winter-like feeling.

I was thinking about that earlier too but I didn't have any motivation to do it since I really liked the warm lighting but I guess you're right, it would make sense that way. I'll experiment and give screenshots to compare.

To be honest I really don't like it, but give feedback.

Last image looks spot on, nice! But the first one might be a better choice. Turn the light post into a colder color as well.
I'd go and look hard for good snowy blend textures. If you really want to make it nice, make your own, a couple of them. Like for wall, pavement and street textures.

Changed the light back to the last one, the lamp is now a blue light. I also added windows to the truck and a lamp outside the little office.

May be just my opinion but since its called snowdown, maybe consider making the sky darker and completely filled with clouds at a later point , would suit more the snow effect on your images.

Great idea, it would make a nice addition to the map. If I find a good skybox texture, I will definitely do this.

Don't think a realistic level of darkness contributes to the map in any way.

I would just steal the light_env settings from dod_colmar until he figures out the exact levels he wants. It has a pretty good 'winter night' feel to it.

So recently I formatted my PC and reinstalled windows on it, I tried to update the map but the workshop file is not there, it is on the workshop on steam but not when I'm trying to update/edit the file. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know, I heard there was an update to how to upload files for cs:go workshop recently but I tried it and the map wasn't there either.

I will be continuing to develop this map but on a different Workshop file as the other one cannot be updated due updates in November which caused the file to not be able to be updated because it wouldn't show up.

I'll be posting an updated workshop file within a few days/weeks with the map updated a bit more so stay tuned for that.

Also thanks to anyone who subscribed to the other workshop file as we almost reached 600 subscribers, shame that I am not able to update that map anymore but I'm pretty sure we will reach this number again and possibly even higher.

That's pretty cool but it's only the skybox which is animated, right?
Obviously you can't animate the actual environment light. (I mean, I wish)
I think you could pull off a pretty convincing if you carefully tweak color correction.
https://developer.va...ction_(concept)

Try a very subtle blueish hue at night. Don't overdo it.

The skybox is not animated, I'm using a entity (material_modify_control) to control a model's texture over time, I am also able to control how long the day/night lasts for with Vscripts.

Also using a few other entities to make the transitions look smooth and nice.

I'm pretty sure there must be a way around the environment light with Vscripts.

I'll be playing around with the environment light and see what I can do. Also thanks for the colour correction idea, I'll look into that too as soon as I have more time.
