.. Mountain Dew can.  I'm working on a small 1v1 deathmatch map loosely based off of Rust (that map from COD).  This is going to be sitting atop a waterfall that is of similar color to Mountain Dew.

(It would be nice if someone could direct me to any pictures/materials/textures of an actual Mountain Dew can, but for now I'm going to create my own from the logo and ingredient list)

I highly recommend modeling a giant doritos bag alongside it.

There are already Dorito bag ragdolls, which I plan to use as part of the map.

    Maps - Models - Textures

Nice work, it's looking really awesome :)

The only remark I have is that you should perhaps make the mountain dew logo a bit more narrow, when it's projected on a cylindrical surface it looks a bit stretched.

Edit: But I don't know, when googling "mountain dew", the logo on those cans looked pretty stretched out too so maybe that's how it should be :3

Yeah, remember the width of the texture needs to be 3.14 times the diameter of the can.

That is actually what the Unwrap function is for in Blender.  When you highlight everything in Edit mode, you can see what the texture is going to be projected on, as well as originally export the unwrapped mesh to texture over.

I just need to get the lighting smoother on the model, but other than that, yay!

Okay, smoothed out the lighting.  Forgot how simple of a task it was.  :P

I thought the mtn dew logo looked messy, and after comparing, it seems like you're lacking the white background inside the logo.

Without the white background the letters are green-on-green and become indistinquishable.

Add white background between letters, will look much better.

I love the dew-fall.

Thank you for pointing that out.  I was really focused on the model itself at the time (and I actually remember questioning the green-on-green myself when making the texture.  x3)

There we go:

Now that I know exactly what to do when it comes to making a model, it will be much, much easier if i make when I make more models.

Yeah that looks much better!

One more tip, consider making the logo smaller and possibly angled. Currently it is so big that it wraps around the can, and you can't see the entire logo. Real cans always make sure you can see the entire logo at once.

You can debate that the proportions (angles most notably for the top and bottom as they angle inward) are still a bit off, but really I am happy with this result.  I'm not going for a model accurate to real life, but it is damn near close and good enough.  x3

EDIT:  Okay it wasn't good enough.  THIS is good enough:  https://www.dropbox....kahmv/blopp.png
