So when I am in game I can't open any links I get in chats, nor can I open profiles, it just gives me an error tab and it's starting to get really annoying.

Any idea what might be causing this? And how can I fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Couple of questions, some of these may seem obvious, please bear with me:
1.  Can you open these exact same links in Chrome, Firefox, etc.?
2.  Do you have CCleaner?

okay, now I found 2 possible solutions really quickly:
1.

You can try to delete the cache (\Steam\appcache\httpcache\) and see if it works.

2.

Exit Steam
Navigate to "Steam\config"
Delete the "htmlcache" and "cookies" folders
If this issue is also occuring in the overlay browser, also delete the "overlayhtmlcache" and "overlaycookies" folders
Run Steam and test the issue

Both from http://forums.steamp...d.php?t=1932798

Oh yes, and:

All of this was from the first fucking result from Google.  I just searched "steam browser not working" and loads of results popped up (about 6,380,000).

Thank you for the advice.

1. Yes I can.
2. I don't use it.

Excuse me for not using the same wording as you and not finding anything.

Usually what works for me when steam is having a fit is just deleting everything in the steam folder except for the steam executable and the Steamapps folder
