Definitely up for playing this again. Just thinking about how fun it was last time we all played it, not to mention all the new content thats been added.

 

Is the LDT Rust server still going by any chance?

The new Rust is pretty awesome, I specially liked an update 2 weeks ago or so that made the terrain generation stick a bit closer to old Rust- there's more altitude variation of the terrain which, combined with the improved graphics and building system and god knows what more makes for a very pleasant game.

I'll play, haven't been following the devblogs for a long time now though so I don't know how much has actually changed.

I'd be up for playing it, got it installed and ready to go! 

 

 

Can anyone summarize the changes since then?

Procedural maps? No more zombies? New building methods?

 

I'll have a look at the changelogs today for you, nice chunk of updates since december so it may take a while to summarize.

EDIT: Didn't take too long, here you go:

 

Gameplay changes:
  • Randomised towns
  • Durability returned from legacy.
  • Twig tier buidling, Weak and cheap
  • No health regen on building blocks, have to repair them
  • Weapons added: Pump shotty, explosives, Assault rifles
  • Loot spawn mechanics changed.
  • Ambient sound
  • New fog, weather
 
Server changes:
  • New admin commands (Addmod, addowner, addban, removeban)
  • Chat contains Steam display pics, admin chat colour different (Good for enforcing server rules)
  • Server performance improved
 
Performance changes:
  • Memory fixes
  • Linux works again
  • Stability fixes etc.
Graphical changes:
  • New UI: Menu Screen, Server browser etc, Blueprints
  • Procedurally generated maps: roads connecting towns
  • Gibbing returned
  • New player animations

Been playing some rust today. it seemed like it's finally in a stable state, been enjoying playing it.

gameplay wise it seems mostly the same, hunting is harder though. There is random barrels across the map with loot aswell as actual landmarks like radtown, these are connected through a road. Airdrops also work nicely!

Don't forget each update introduces bugs. Recently the disappearing walls came back and people were being randomly disconnected. Those should be mostly fixed by now but it's still something to deal with after each update if you want to go back so soon.

Yea I played with revenge today, and rust really made a lot of progress! :)

 

If there are enough people from LDT willing to play, I will set up a server fro 50 people.

I've asked some people and a lot of people where actually interested.

Server is almost done setting up, I will release the IP tonight @ 23:00 so everyone can start at the same time
