THIS THREAD IS FOR:
- Suggest a map to be added
- Suggest a map to be removed
- Suggest a map to be re-armed (new weapon/ammo spawns)

When suggesting a map, you have to make sure it's not already on one of the following lists.
Always provide a download link, and preferably screenshots too when suggesting a map.
This thread is suitable for discussion about the suitability of certain maps for the TTT server.

YOUR POST WILL BE IGNORED IF:

I was going to suggest ttt_foundation_a1. It looks really awesome!

Oh, and by the way. Seeing as almost everyone hate ttt_mc_skyislands, and it empties the server, I suggest we remove it. Along with other overplayed and boring maps like ttt_67thway, ttt_smugglersbay, ttt_camel, ttt_cruise, and more. Now don't go crazy everyone, we can always put maps back on after a few months. It's just that they've been there for so long, and I'm sure we'd all like to get rid of the old and in with some new.

I agree with JJ, except for 67thway, although it is overplayed, it's still one of those classic TTT maps.

If we remove all the maps you suggest then we will have a hell of a lot less players than we do now. Keep the popular maps because they make the server popular.

Also please stop being subjective pieces of shit, I personally hate Whitehouse to the extent that I leave the server as soon as it's voted for.
Other people obviously like it though, so I'm not going to remove it or suggest it should be.

I agree with JJ about removing ttt_mc_SkyIslands. It's too big & too laggy. People who select it are usually new ttt players who simply like minecraft. But in reality, it's a horrible map for TTT and empties the server.

I'd say ttt_district_a5 needs a rearm. Some whole areas of it contains no weapons at all.

I don't know about ttt_ldt_nuclear_v4, but last (and only) time I played it (a few months ago) the player spawns were in a location where you had to jump down and lose health in order to get down, and it had no weapons. I don't know if it has been fixed yet because it's never selected anymore


Edit: I assume you only need links when suggesting new maps?


Also.. We really need a thread like this for GMR.

I believe we absorbed the entire GMR map pool ages ago, with the exception of maps that crash or are otherwise glitchy / unsuitable.

LDT is LDT.

Holy shit, meridian is the second most played map? It is a funny map, I admit but... Really?

District doesn't need a rearm, there are plenty of weapons, you just need to know where to look for them.

Skyislands and cruise should be removed. Awful maps. People vote for skyislands just because it is a minecraft map but why do they vote for cruise? No idea.

Camel is classic even though I hate it.

I wouldn't suggest teenroom either. It is pretty much the same like de_dolls or de_rats. Horrendous maps for TTT. Plain and open.

Did I say I hate them? No, not really. I actually never leave because of a bad/boring map. If I leave, it's out of boredom. I actually quite like the maos I suggested to be removed, it's just I've heard so many complaints about them being overplayed and boring. So I thought I'd suggest them removed and suggest some new ones, not only for me, but the other people who long for some new maps for a change. Like I said, it's not like they're gone forever, and it's not like we can't find something better.

But after looking at the statistics I agree on keeping ttt_67thway.

We should take care of that cubemaps problem while we're at it. Oh, and make sure each new map you add from now on, has decent cubemaps. Or else I'll come down on your ass like a Belgian eagle of fury.

Here's my thoughts on what maps should be removed (trying to be as objective as possible):

Smugglersbay: In a nutshell, a worse dm_island in every respect, which renders it pretty useless. It's more cramped (smaller), harder to navigate due to careless brushwork, looks awful (texture alignment is abhorrent at places) and is poorly optimized (people with lower-end PCs experience massive frame-drops) and for that reason alone it shouldn't be on the server.

Cruise: Very much a gimmicky map that doesn't allow for proper TTT gameplay 95% of the time. Once again, it is littered with wide open linear corridors and not much else. Innocents tend to gather at the pool or lounge area, fooling around with props, waiting to be relieved of their boredom by traitors who don't see any incentive to storm a massive group of widely spread terrorists.

Skyislands: What the others said. It gets RTV'ed almost instantly every time I'm on and I haven't had one (not a single) proper TTT round on it.

Deadhouse: Actually, let's keep it and youtube the reactions every time this map gets picked (which almost never happens).

Some other ones to remove may be:
Erebus
Dark transit
Gunkanjima
Surreal

These maps are never played and they all have shortcomings.

Apart from that I do haves some maps to suggest. I will add a post with them at a later date.

We can always rely on our hidden stashes in case the obvious weapons are all gone.
Also, you can jump straight down from the attic, because fall damage doesn't matter pre-round.
