-Open steam
-Go to library
-Right click <your game>
-Properties
-Click set launch options
-Enter the following:

-noborder

-Press OK, close.
-Run the game in windowed mode.
-Done!

This runs gmod in windowed, yet fullscreen and no borders.
Alt+tabbing goes way faster, but it looks just like fullscreen!

Well, if you're running window, you might as well use "-window" too
And while you're at it, how about "-novid" so you jump straight into the menu? :P

You also need to add ' -sw' if you have 2 screens and you want your mouse just go go across without the window closing.

Usually a thread titled 'How to run gmod in windowed fullscreen (no borders)' is more directed to Gmod. ;)
Overreaction with Roach is about as relevant his name is. ^^

How did you load up GMod in order to boot into your lua OS? Timetravel?

EDIT:
Although I really enjoyed having full screen windowed I noticed my fps was significantly lower that way. I've switched back to fullscreen :s
