Let's put things in place shall we

I was asked on the gmr server to make a map by about a billion people, I sat there for a few moments and remember working on one ages ago after a gmr mapping gather.

Here are the threads if you need reminding.

Well I couldn't find a copy of FRAGmania, my guess is it dissappered during my hard drive crash but I did find a copy of 90_gmr_frag_b1, I opened it up in hammer and started messing about.

WAIT A SHARKING SECOND.

I'm a nuclear guy now, I need nuclear power in this map I thought, so that's why this map is now called gmr_ldt_nuclear_race!!!

Below are screenshots of the current work (You will notice the old map in there but it has been changed quite a bit so it's not so tiny now!)

Looking nice. I suggest a white/grey/black colorscheme with those colored lights.

Did you scale the texture up, is it the perspective or is the map really fucking small?

LDT is LDT.

Texture resolution is all over the place, already tested it with the gmr tool and the maps size is fine.

Oh hi guys, so after some feedback from psycix, I've adjusted the elevation angles a bit (so no wipeouts) and I've also started applying textures.

Behold today's progress!

A new skybox!

The light angles are off in these shots as I'm still tweaking with them :)

The first corner from the start, I've moved the boxes here as it would cause cluster fuck (Psycix's words)

After the slight hill (changed elevations and shit didn't I!)

After that column split you now encounter the boxes!!

After another slight hill, it's a 2 car width track across the lava (Don't fall in, it's insta kill!)

You then go up a hill and hit this corner.

After the corner, it's a big elevation down (but not too steep)

The columns here have a wall along the bottom, it's a bit hard to tell here but it is there!

After the hill you hit a corner into the tunnel section!

And then after the tunnel, it's a nice smooth incline back to the finish!!!

With the GMR testing tool, I've completed the lap in 177 seconds so this should be a good sprint track (I hope anyway)
Leave me your critz in the comment section BELOW!!!

EDIT

Changing the inner pillar texture to give more light bounce, so don't crit on that :P

well isn't 177 sec a bit too much? the time reminds me of the wario map in gmr, still the map looks very nice

177 seconds is with the testing tool car, a very basic buggy that has no upgrades.
