So i have decided that i want to learn Lua. I currently know Java, some HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I want to learn Lua because i think it can help me a lot so if anyone knows anything that could help me, it would be appreciated.

if you want to learn lua for gmod you should start off by completing the gmod lua wiki tutorials:

Here's some other useful stuff:
Obviously the Gmod wiki (new one) : http://wiki.garrysmo.../page/Main_Page
but also the old one: http://maurits.tv/da.../index4875.html
I couldn't find any proper Server / Client Function Dumps on the new wiki so here are the dumps from the old one which are really useful:
Serverside Function Dump: http://maurits.tv/da.../index4cf7.html
Clientside Function Dump: http://maurits.tv/da.../index484e.html
Facepunch Lua Section: http://facepunch.com...isplay.php?f=65
Facepunch "What do you need help with?" thread that can be really nice to get a quick question about gmod lua: http://facepunch.com...d.php?t=1160598

After you complete the gmod wiki lua tutorials I recommend you starting with serverside scripts.
Past Projects: TTT Pack & Modifications, Evolve Modifications & Extras, Quake Sounds, Kaz's Epic MOTD, Pointshop Modifications & Extras, KazHtml Changeable MOTD, Deathrun, KQS Update.

Future Projects: ???

If you're already familiar with some languages then learning Lua itself is extremely easy, hard bit is applying it to gmod, learning how all the server and client stuff works, all tge different functions and hooks etc. Find an overview of the syntax then start looking at gamemodes and addons running on an srcds server. I'd get links to stuff but I'm on my phone :)

Really good website is luasearch.ovrprojects or something, others will known what I'm on about. Also be careful of changed syntax due to gmod13.
