In this topic:

  • 1. Do not post in ban threads unless...
  • 2. How to report a player.
  • 3. How to report abuse.
  • 4. How to appeal a ban.
  • 5. How to get a steamID

If you do NOT follow these guidelines, you may get an infraction and your post/topic may be disregarded.

1. Do not post in ban threads unless...

You can not post in this section like any other section. The rules are strict and all posts have to be useful to the case.

Reasons to post:

  • Posting new damage logs
  • Posting a SteamID that has not been given yet
  • You were a witness to the event and have other relevant information to the case

Reasons why NOT to post:

  • You want to comment on the persons grammar / spelling
  • You want to comment on the reporter not following forum guidelines, e.g Double posting, not using the edit button, etc.
  • You want to give irrelevant information
  • You want to flame the person
  • You want to express your general opinion on someone.
  • You want to say stupid unimportant things such as:
"e.g agreed, lol, I didn't see it, wow thats a lot of RDM, I think he deserves a ban, etc."

An exception is made for moderators/admins, they can discuss the situation at will.
This does NOT include regular or trusted ranks!

2. How to report a player

If players break the rules while higher ranks were away, you can report that here in this section.
Multiple players breaking the same rule together can be reported in one thread.

Post a new thread and go by this list:

  • Set the thread prefix to [REPORTPLAYER] (Pick it from tags, then check the checkbox.)
  • Set the thread title to the name of the offender and type of offense
  • Include in the post: Add the name(s) and SteamID(s) of offender(s)
  • Include in the post: Useful and clear proof
  • Include in the post: The time of the incident

Providing proof:

  • Record a video
  • Record a demo
  • Screenshots (in some cases screenshots do not help)
  • Damage logs (TTT only)

When posting damagelogs, copypaste the COMPLETE log and highlight relevant sections by bolding or coloring them.
Use ttt_print_damagelog in the post-round time to get the round's damage report.

If someone makes a one-time mistake. Don't go reporting him right away.

Spoiler

3. How to report abuse

If a ranked player abuses his powers, you can report abuse. Abuse reports are taken very seriously so please do not make them without good reason.
Note that an unjust ban is usually NOT abuse! If you want to get unbanned use an APPEAL, only report abuse if you think that the player should lose his rank.

Post a new thread and go by this list:

  • Set the thread prefix to [ABUSE] (Pick it from tags, then check the checkbox.)
  • Set the thread title to the name of the offender
  • Include in the post: Add the name and SteamID of the offender
  • Include in the post: Useful and clear proof
  • Include in the post: The time of the incident

4. How to appeal a ban

If you are banned from a server and think it is unjust, you can appeal that ban in this section.

Post a new thread and go by this list:

  • Set the thread prefix to [APPEAL] (Pick it from tags, then check the checkbox.)
  • Set the thread title to your SteamID + Name
  • Include in the post: which Admin or Moderator banned you
  • Include in the post: A good explanation
  • Include in the post: Date and time you got banned

5. How to get a steamID

A steamID looks like this: STEAM_0:0:000000 (but then with random numbers)
You can get someone's steamID easily in 2 ways:

Type "status" in console while on a server
This prints the steamID's of all players on the server.

SteamIDfinder
Go to http://www.steamidfinder.com/ and paste his steam-profile URL into it.
