2 brushes, problem solved? I don't see the deal with maximum brush size being a limiting factor, you can just make 2 and make it twice as long.
Unless I'm missing something

There's no max brush size, there's a max map size :P

Are there specific lanes like in the old drag map? and how will the hazards be set up?

And I would say detail is added during beta as well as fixes.

I'm still adding a 3D Skybox with a lot of detail.


Just remember this - water inside a 3D skybox is really fucked up at the moment. No matter how you do it, it wont work properly. This problem have existed for several weeks, and I have no idea why it hasn't been fixed. (unless it's fixed without me noticing xD)

I tried putting water in a 3D skybox around my blockfort map, and this is how it looks (yep, no leaks, or any other compile log errors):

Just thought I'd let you know, in case you were gonna put water in the 3D skybox :P. it can be really time consuming looking for a problem with the map, and finding the solution.. especially when there are no problems with the map, and there is no solution xD

There are HL2 and CSS maps with water in the skybox...

Something I suddenly remember: "There can only be 1 level of "expensive" water."
I think it will only work good if there is water INSIDE the map, and water OUTSIDE the map, at the exact same level. Try it!

Well not to worry, I'm not going to put any water into my 3D skybox.
However, psycix managed to get this working.

Why don't you join the Floodmod server, and check out psycix' map.
He's got perfectly fine reflections that match the inside of the map.

My reflections are bugged as hell, but it looks decent if you don't pay attention to it. :3

actually, I made a map using water in a 3D skybox already (a flatwater map, used the 3D skybox to simulate a feeling of endless water), but that was like.. a very long time ago. in that map, the skybox water is waaaay below the map, but still works, 100% bug free. I was told this is a bug because of a recent source update o.o (which makes sense since it worked before xD). but.. you maybe meant it should look like they are on a same level from inside the skybox? I'll make a dev test map :3.
Edit: nope, can't get it to work atm, even with the most simple test map. I blame the source updates :P.
Doesn't really matter though, as there will be no 3D skybox water in Bob's map ^^

Because CSS maps have it.

Hell just decompile and see if you can recompile de_port. xD

I tried decompiling & recompiling de_port (with CSS config ofcourse xD). still the same 3D skybox water bug. I think the main reason Valve doesn't care to fix it is because it doesn't affect already compiled content (aka the maps they have already made >_>), I think there's something wrong with the compiler.

Hat has a point, people complain about bugs but often don't realize that they are one of the 100 people who noticed the bug but didn't report it.

yes, I used steam support to send them a very descriptive message (not sure if that's the correct place to send it however >_>). In my experience though, the swedish support is crap. They don't know at all what goes on with valve, and it takes roughly 2-3 weeks to even get the answer that they can't help you, even when you have problems caused by valve. I also hate how they answer in swedish when you write your support message in english >_>.

The map looks Fantastic
Even better if you add those things as you said above, in my opinion to make it look even MORE realistic you should do custom textures and do some gang logos, and other decals.
Like dirt, mud ect.
