GMR WIP - New Drag / LA River

It was going to replace drag, then I figured adding one or two obstacles would make it more than holding W.
Now I think it can't be called drag anymore, and I don't even think it can replace it.

I'm mapping it after the LA River, starting at the Hansen Dam.

So yeah, I'm thinking of adding a lot of detail to the (3D) Skybox.
What do you guys think I should name it?

Oh, and you should also consider placing the spawns like this (or similar to this):

that way players won't spawn so god damn close to each other when there are few players on the server, and, VIPS still get front row. Just an idea, but I think it's good :3

No, I think first row should start with 1 at the inside (dependant on which direction the next turn is), and last should be back row, at the outside

Having it spaced out like yours means 2nd actually starts 3rd, 4th is second, etc :P

It maybe gives noobs a slight advantage at the start though :P I think the spacing is more important than a few inches for a corner on this one hat.

As you can see, in a running track each participant is spread, with the one on the outside being furthest ahead
This is to negate the significant advantage the first lane has on the first turn (Note: Sprints are straight, so runners start side by side)

The same can be seen on any track:

These all show examples of negating the significant advantage of the first turn, but in gmr we generally want first place to be an advantage, therefore we keep them lined up (That, or mappers are lazy)
If the starts are lined as suggested, then the advantage goes to people who aren't actually in the first few race slots, people that would, if in the motogp or f1 pics, be on the second or third rows :P

and that's why I added "(or similar to this)" after my suggestion :P!
I just think that a map like this (or any map) would benefit from having the spawns a bit more spread out, to avoid everyone colliding and blaming each other at start. I'm just saying, the average gmr map have the spawns unrealistically close to each other :P. It's true you get a slight advantage when being placed closer to the first corner, but, weren't this map supposed to be more or less straight :P? wouldn't the only thing that matters in a straight map be if you started in the front row, or back row xD?

Judging by the second reference pic, there's a turn :3

But yeah, wouldn't this track be wide enough for reasonable spaces anyway? :P

Agree with panda AND hat.

For drag maps, everyone needs to spawn next to eachother. For other races, a setup with more rows is actually worth trying out (like bowsers castle)

Well, good news.
I finally found why my water wasn't working and why my vvis.exe was crashing.
I fixed some GMR-esque leaks, I pretty much checked every brush-to-brush collision, and some had small gaps/assymetries.
Also optimized my Skybox.

I could release it like, this Friday, but that would be the beta.
I'm still adding a 3D Skybox with a lot of detail.

Most maps only reach beta (That's what the b means in the version number) :P
Beta's usually mostly about detailing, though, so a beta release isn't bad

No, I might do that later, but I refuse to make everything in an angle, besides, drag wasn't REALLY max hammer units, mine will be.

The old drag, note how there's a significant amount of space dedicated to a little ending area.
Mine will be at least 20% longer. That, and it will have obstacles, water, displacements, hazards, etc.
