I can't stand it when people don't clean up their desktop. A desktop can serve 2 purposes: 1. Quick and easy file and program access, 2. Displaying a nice picture, or 3. Both.
I don't think a desktop full of icons servers any of those purposes. :P

I'm also annoyed at people who set they're icon size to fucking huge.

Also, @ dual monitors. I think a 24" monitor + windows 7 provides enough working comfort for me.

I has 24'' as well.

I think a 24'' HD monitor + Ubuntu 10.4 LTS provides enough working comfort for me.

If you don't use it, why not just put all those icons into a single folder, and have a clean desktop?

Dual Monitors for the win Cyrill :D makes development much easier ^_^

Not only developing. But it is indeed easy for that developing. Or watching porn over two screens. Like someone squirts in your left screens and it flies over to the right screen.

I like your porn theory :D never used two screens for watching say a mega widescreen video, might use one though, i usually allocate mine like on the left hand screen will be 3D work and such (as that monitor is bigger) and my left screen will be doing code or using the interwebz, Minecrafty goodness and other nice gaming gems always go on the left screen though ^_^

You don't use gardens, but you keep it clean anyway.

The desktop is a folder, and it is always open. I think it is very logical to put shortcuts towards the things you use most and maybe some files you are currently working with.
Now I do that but don't clean those files up, but still, I know my way around on my desktop.

I don't see why you would not use this feature of quickly accessing all sorts of stuff.

LDT is LDT.

Edit: Look at the other image I posted, it's on dropbox
Edit again: And you dn't even need to download the dropbox application to upload/download

Technically dropbox is access to a sever, for file transfer purposes

Even access to this website is access to a web server

Edit: And if you're using a computer in a network with more than 10 computers, you've probably even had access to a DHCP server or domain controller, or both

Try Photobucket for easy uploading and sharing of files.
The 7 megabyte .gif showing all my background earlier in this thread was uploaded to there.

Niko Bellic FTW

It actually was a preview for one of my upcoming films recorded between Grand Theft Auto IV and Garry's Mod (working title: Half Left Auto [XD]) until I realised my PC sucked too many balls to render the film properly. Too bad, the entire script was finished.
